KS5 Product Design

12DTa (Year 12) and 13DTc (Year 13) are a single KS5 group. The qualification has two components: Component 1 (Principles of Design and Technology, exam) and Component 2 (Independent Design and Make Project, NEA), assessed through the iterative Explore → Create → Evaluate process.

Lessons lost to public holidays

12DTa loses 1 period (Tue 25 Aug). 13DTc loses 7 periods — both doubles on 25 Aug and 31 Aug, the Thursday single on 5 Nov, and the Monday double on 9 Nov. Catch-up is prioritised in the Realisation weeks (3–11).
